First day of 2010

Happy New Year!

This year I want to try something a little different. I want to start off with a quote I like- before moving on to my cards or event. (The quote for today is from the box of "Daily Affirmations" by US Games Systems, Inc.)

Quote for today: You may have the loftiest goals, the highest ideals, the noblest dreams, but remember this, nothing works unless you do.
Nido Quberin

(That is for darn sure!)

I have one or two unfinished card projects from last year, and once they are completed, I will not be taking on custom work. I have several things I want to do for myself, and some family and good friends. I promised a card to Jenette, and cards as a gift for Aunt Joan (that's all she said she wanted for Christmas). Unfortunately I did not get to either. So those will be my first projects of the year, and then its on to the challenges and card designs I would like to submit for publication. While it isn't a resolution, it is definitely a goal for 2010. I want to be published....and who doesn't?... :)

BTW: if you haven't seen the movie Julie & Julia, I would recommend it. I really enjoyed it.
Now SHE was a dedicated blogger! (...and it REALLY paid off for her!)

OK, here is one of my projects left from 2009. It is for someone's brother who is serving in the US Army. I'm still working on the 2nd one.

Cardstock: The Paper Company (kraft); Paper Bouquet linen finish (other), Patterned paper: Creative Imaginations (green camo and brown camo), Specialty paper: The Paper Company (vellum), Accents: Jolee's By You (American Flag); A Touch of Jolees (camo outfit, boots, hat, rifle and duffle); JoAnn's (brads), Creative Imaginations (star, corners- US Army), Tools: Fiskers border punch; Stampin Up Corner punch; Cuttlebug embossing folder, Sentiment: Computer generated; Alphabet letters unknown

Thanks for visiting! Rae

  1. Hi Rachel,
Welcome back to the blogging world. I see why you don't want any more customer order card. I'd have no idea to make a card like that. You did good.

    Looking forward to your publication.
