A winter trip to the beach and a late Christmas gift

Hello again! Last weekend we went to the beach for a couple days. Now I know you might say "what the..." But it was actually quite nice. Of course it was too cold to stroll the boardwalk, and most of the businesses are closed, but there were plenty of things open in Rohobeth Beach. My son got to see the movie Avatar, which has been number one at the box office for the last SEVERAL weeks. I haven't seen it yet. who will not risk cannot win.

Bethany Beach
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These are the cards that inspired me to make the cards I made using some unmounted stamps I bought at a convention. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the company.
The first two inspiration cards were created by my sister Bethann.
I got these from her a while ago, and was never able to part with them...
(Thanks Bethann, for allowing me to post them!)
Inspiration #1 (Bethann's card)
Inspiration #2 (Bethann's card)
All of the cards below are made to be used as notecards so there are no sentiments at all. Any cards that I keep for personal use I can add the sentiments as I need to- which is what I like to do anyway.
This is the first group design... I actually was trying to make it look like she has a flower on her headband. I was going to color the headband, but I didn't...
Sympathy Cards
Quote for today: Life is a bumpy road and laughter is your best shock absorber.
(The quote for today is from the box of "Daily Quips" by US Games Systems, Inc.)
Good morning! I actually made a dozen of these cards and forgot to photo and share them. Unfortunately, I only have 4 left. One of the cards in this photo is going out today. They were fairly quick and I loved the end result. I would like to do some more for Sympathy, Get Well and /or birthday. Next time I will stamp everything but the sentiment. I always leave the inside blank for personalization later when I need it.
Supplies: Cardstock: Ready made embossed cards-unknown, Silk Flowers: AC Moore, Rhinestones: JoAnn's Fabrics, Color Mediums: Markers from JoAnn's Craft Essentials, Glitter is PK Glitz and JoAnn's (a couple I had to mix), Ink: Stampin Up, Rubber Stamps: (image) Inkadinkado; (sentiment) My Sentiments Exactly
First day of 2010
Happy New Year!
This year I want to try something a little different. I want to start off with a quote I like- before moving on to my cards or event. (The quote for today is from the box of "Daily Affirmations" by US Games Systems, Inc.)
Quote for today: You may have the loftiest goals, the highest ideals, the noblest dreams, but remember this, nothing works unless you do.
Nido Quberin
(That is for darn sure!)
I have one or two unfinished card projects from last year, and once they are completed, I will not be taking on custom work. I have several things I want to do for myself, and some family and good friends. I promised a card to Jenette, and cards as a gift for Aunt Joan (that's all she said she wanted for Christmas). Unfortunately I did not get to either. So those will be my first projects of the year, and then its on to the challenges and card designs I would like to submit for publication. While it isn't a resolution, it is definitely a goal for 2010. I want to be published....and who doesn't?... :)
BTW: if you haven't seen the movie Julie & Julia, I would recommend it. I really enjoyed it.
Now SHE was a dedicated blogger! (...and it REALLY paid off for her!)
