San Antonio, Texas

Hi there! I haven't posted lately, but I've still been working on various things, plus I took a trip to San Antonio, Texas. It was for business, so I didn't wander too far from the hotel, but I will share with you some of my favorite shots from the riverwalk...

At the bottom of the post I will share one card I did for a friend.

My quote for today:
Indecision is the thief of opportunity. Jim Rohn

I was trying hard to capture some of the beauty and peacefulness that I experienced the first time I visited the San Antonio Riverwalk. Although I must admit this visit was different in many ways. I was there over St. Patricks Day when they turned the river green, blocked off the streets, and held a parade on the water. Loads and loads of people came out to listen to the bands and watch the laser light show. It felt like summer, it sounded like summer. Still...all things considered, it was nice...

I know you were probably wondering what happened to the St. Patricks Day Parade, and where were all the people! Well, in grand ole Rachel style...I actually lost my camera for a day- exactly that day! So I missed all of the exciting photos of the Riverwalk area transformed. But actually, this is the way I like it...peaceful...serene...and green! Hope you enjoyed!

The end! :)

My one card post today! :)

This card was cased form someone talented on SCS, unfortunately, I can not send you to their blog or gallery to see the original, because I do not know the address. But it is NOT an original design of mine.
I saw it, I loved it, I figured I could somewhat duplicate it to meet my needs, without a pattern.
I estimated, and made my own pattern out of cardboard. I was very pleased with the final results. It was for a 14th birthday.

Supplies: Cardstock: DCWV (textured/white), Unknown (grey marble); Patterned/Specialty Paper: DCWV (Vintage Creme Pack); Sentiments: (Inside/computer generated); Accents: Collar tabs/ unknown (letter V); (Other) Color Medium: Water color pencils (black), Jelly roll/white; Tools: hammer, Paper shapers photo corner punch; Templates: Embossing folder (tie), hand cut/tie and pocket; Other: Numbers by Stickerpotamus

Thanks for stopping by. As always, I appreciate your comments and feedback.

  1. Well, once again you've managed to amaze me! Borrowed design or not, I'm very sure you've made it your own with this rendition. I think this card is the cutest and could really work for an array of ages depending on the paper chosen! Thanks for another great one Rae!

  3. Beautiful pics! I too found a version of the shirt card on SCS - they were my Father's Day cards last year. (guess great minds think alike) :) I like your addition of a pocket - so clever.

  5. Hi Rachel,

I'm just discovering your delightful blog.
The format is lovely - a coffetable blog if ever there was one!

The birthday card is fabulous. I've seen you in action (as the grateful recipient of some of your creations) and you always "bring it".

    I'll be back to visit!

    Cheers,

    Mitch
