Birthday card for a Co-worker who turned 60

A birthday card for Cpl. Sosnowy...

..."Live and Learn and Pass It On" for today:

I've learned that it's not what happens to people that's important. It's what they do about it.
Age 10

Now if a 10 year old can figure that out, why can't some adults?...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello! I was asked to make a card for our Corporal's 60th birthday. I usually require much more than one day's notice (for real!), but I tried my best to accommodate them. I hope this does not become a habit (smile)...anyway...I had to find a design I had already created. Sometimes I will just spend days thinking about the design, and I did not have that kind of time! This is NOT my original design, I found it on the Split Coast Stampers a long time ago, and I apologize for not knowing who originated it. This is my take...(2)
General Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill (creme); Specialty Paper: Me and My Big Ideas (tie), DCWV/The Black Currant Stack (shirt); Accents: Rhinestones/Walmart/Best Occasions, number stickers/Stickopotamus, Brads/JoAnn's Crafts; Other: Papier glass finish; Ink: Distress ink by Tim Holtz, Markers by JoAnn's Crafts, black glaze pen
P.S.
I almost didn't add the rhinestones, but I just wanted to see how they looked. Well...after I laid down a couple I thought I didn't like it. I tried to pull one up, and the paper started to tear. That's when I knew this design was "set in stone..." lol
Thanks for visiting, come back again!
Hugs!
A Card Patterns Sketch and a Moxie Fab Monochromatics Challenge
Not much different is going on with me right now. No body said it would be easy....but we are "hanging in there..." Still thankful for our many blessings.
Thank you Helen for lifting my spirits earlier tonight. I rather enjoyed watching little Ms. Faye quilling at the age of three. She will be a master crafter by the time she is 5 or 6...
Well, I will say Amen to that. If only more people would say what they mean, and mean what they say...
Tuesday Trigger for January 18, 2011
Hello! More wintry weather predicted to be on the way... : (
I took this one in my neighbors yard to show the inches on her hanging flowers and the playhouse...
Live and Learn and pass it on for today:
I've learned that TRUST is the single most important factor
in both personal and professional relationships. Age 20
What do you think about that? I wholeheartedly agree!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's a Tuesday Trigger Challenge! I haven't done one of these in so long. I always want to, I just can't seem to make the time....I always copy the trigger photo, and that is as far as I get!
I decided to make a small set of cards. They could be used for Birthday, Wedding/Anniversary and Valentines Day...if you like....
BTW-These are all the same color...bad editing job on two shots... : /

Here's the Trigger...

Here's my take...
As you can see, I used a bunch of embossing folders...about 10 altogether!
After the fact I don't know what I didn't go lighter, or more varied. But my son liked them. He said they were elegant. So...I'm good... : )

...I Love You...

...Best Wishes...

...Happy birthday...

General Supplies: Paper bouquet linen paper by DMD, Metallic paper stack by DCWV, Rhinestones/ Walmart Best Occasions, Sizzix, Cuttlebug and Stampin Up embossing folders, Mini brad/JoAnn's Crafts

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon...

It's January already!

Hello. It's 2011, and so far my crafting year isn't going any better than this past one. : /
I do not seem to be able to make the time to work on the 100's (yes, 100's) of projects I have waiting in the ready...But yes, of course...it IS early in the year. Thanks goodness for some small miracles. = ] I MUST do better! ; )

Today will be a very short post. I am showing you a birthday card I recently crafted for my dear sister. As always, I think most of our cards look so much better in person. Imagine how great those cards look in hand-that you still think look great in these (sometimes) "sorry" photos?...

Live and learn and Pass it on...(for today)...

I've learned that it doesn't do any good to buy expensive tools,
if I can never find them. Age 41

I recently had an issue trying to locate a "not so expensive, but still do not want to replace it" tool. I still haven't found it, so I guess that lets you know that my craft room organization is a VERY slow process. And every once in a while in between that process, I try to make a card or two. I did a "work around" to complete my project, but I must find it! And it isn't a small tool either. Have any of you ever had this happen to you? Tell me I am not alone!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK, here's my card...
This design is that of an easel card. I oogled several on SplitCoastStampers for a good long time- when they first started making them, and finally went to a Stamp Camp and learned how to make my own. I am happy with these results...
General supplies: Cardstock: The Paper company; Specialty paper: DCWV (the metallic stack); Embellishments/Stickers: rhinestones/Best Occasions-Walmart, Stickers: K & Company; Stamps: Stampin Up sets; Tools: Border punch/EK Success;
Thanks so very much for dropping by! Hope to see you again soon...
