Still making Christmas cards...and a few note cards for a gift

These are almost the last Christmas cards I will do before I move on. I still have to make my Christmas thank you cards, although since we are all cutting back so much, I probably won't need very many of those. I bought this reindeer stencil over the summer from a stampin up rep. in Virginia. I was looking forward to using it this Christmas. I'm sure I will use it again and again. I really like it. This set was quick and easy.

Supplies: paper/ DCWV Christmas notecards and The Paper Company, ribbon/JoAnn's Christmas ribbon, PK Glitz glitter glitz, dreamweaver stencils embossing paste in metallic gold and pearlescent, Stampin Up Reindeer stencil

These cards were made for a friends birthday that is coming up. I missed a lot of birthdays this year, but this friend always looks out for me. Her birthday is ingrained in my brain so I don't forget. :) She is absolutely the easiest person to do anything for. She is appreciative of anything you do, and lucky for me she loves blank notecards! I picked these monogram notecards up in Marshalls. I look for nice designs sometimes that will look even nicer once they are embellished. I stamped the designs on them, traced them out in glitter pen and added some bling. I think they turned out pretty cute. This is just a sampling because I am doing a set of 12 (each card will be different). I am only posting these 4. I tried to match the image color ink to the color of the monogram that was already debossed on the card.

Supplies: Stamps: inkadinkado clear and Heidi Grace clear; ink: Stampin Up night of navy, always artichoke, rose red, and chocolate chip; Say it in crystals by Prima Marketing , Inc, Paper: (monogram cards) by Gartner Studios, glitter pen by jelly roll (bought at convention)

Misc Cards...

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. So many of us have so much to be thankful for. I know for us, it is almost too many blessings to name. Of course there always seems to be something you can complain about, but we are truly, truly blessed.

This is a Christmas card I made for a co-worker to give to his wife. He is a very talented and award winning photographer. Acadia Photography, David M. Sacerdote, 215-281-3951 . His website is: www.acadiaphotography.com The photo is one he actually gave to me (one of many), he didn't know I would be using it for the card. He is so generous with his pictures. I am going to make a set of notecards for him to give his wife for Christmas, also using his photos. I plan to embellish them with some dimensionals, but keep them simple. Hope to post that soon.

Supplies:paper/ Cardstock by The Paper Company ( JoAnn's has buy one get one this weekend-100 sheets for $4); corner punch, cuttlebug snowflake folder; rubber stamp- Stampin Up; additional snowflakes by Marcella (K & Company), "Love w/ Christmas tree" photo- BY DAVE SACERDOTE; markers, glitter glue and regular glitter.

This card is a case of a card I made for a Thank you in an earlier blog. I changed a few things. The ribbon is wider, I added a bow and pearls, and a different computer generated sentiment.
But I kept the paper the same (it's DCWV flocked). I really like this paper. The paper on the inside of the card has a fingerprint running across it- as it is a retirement card for a woman retiring from California Dept of Justice. She has been a member of the Automated Fingerprint Identification System users group for many years. I still wanted to keep it simple. Thinking in this case, (hoping) "less is more".

Award from Helen!

Hi! I got a blogger award from my new friend Helen. I am going to post the awards, but I am not able to follow through with everything else because you are supposed to give this award to 10 other people. Unfortunately I don't know 10 other bloggers to give it to. Well, we shall see what happens now. :)

I could leave it for PawwPadd, but I don't think she is writing on her blog right now. What is a newbie to do?

This one is for an aquaintance.
This one is for good luck and good fortune!

Nice, huh!...

A few more cards

A few more Christmas cards, a couple birthday cards, and some thank you cards.

I just love this paper by DCWV and wanted to use it, it's not Christmas paper, but I needed some more Christmas cards!... I'm still going to add a sentiment to the pink and blue, I just haven't figured out what it will be yet. : )

metallic ribbon-AC Moore
sizzix embossing folder
Twinklets Diamond dust, PK Glitz glitter

These are 2 birthday cards I made using the similar layout to the full size butterfly card in the last blog entry. I really want to make 95% of my cards this size. It's just easier to get more done. There, I said it!

butterfly punch : Martha Stewart, corner punch: Stampin up
Stickers: JoAnn Crafts
embossing folder: cuttlebug

These are cards I made for a card swap I attended. Someone actually passed out cards at that swap that had to be made by a grade school child. I thought it was just ridiculous! I would photo it and post it, but I do not want that card on my blog. There were several people in the class talking about it, but no one said anything to the crafter. : (

paper: The paper company, Background is DCWV, ATD paperpad (Story of Us) and purchased notecards. (I really liked the background)

Get Well Card for WH and others

OH bother! It looks like my brand new computer is acting funny. Luckily this one is insured! And I made sure I took out extra insurance on it. This time it is less than 2 months old. I will definitely have to make this my last HP. I had one for 5 years, and if it wasn't for that one, I would once again have NOTHING! :(

You just would not believe how much trouble I had posting this card! For some reason I was totally unable to sign into my account. It took me a very long time to gain access, and lots of frustration. But finally!!!

paper: The Paper Company- beadwork, leaf Ivory
silk leaves- party supply store
silk flower: AC Moore
Brad and rhinestones-AC Moore
die cut by Spellbinders
Quote computer generated (the Bible- Thanks Bethann, do you remember giving me this?)

This card was double printed, cut out and popped up from very old Printshop software. I was unable to use my current Printmaster software. It was for a co-workers 25th anniversary on the job. Everyone liked it anyway. We are always our own toughest critics. The patch in the background is a copy of our Unit patch.

This is a baby card for my niece who had a baby earlier this year and I just got around to sending her a card and gift. Yes, she actually named the baby "Hapi". (go figure?...)

This card is for our co-worker who has been over in Iraq for 10 months. We wanted to send her some cheery wishes to make her smile, and let her know we are thinking of her.

This card was cased from "Card" magazine-Vol4 issue8, August 2009, pg 53, card by Michelle Spinas. I know you are supposed to change at least 3 things when you CASE a card. I changed the butterfly -I have two different shapes. Put the sentiment at the bottom (hers was a "Missing You" sentiment higher up on the card). Left off the rhinestones. Used a different cuttlebug folder. Changed the colors of the buttlerflys, and the card base. Last but not least, I changed the card size.
