Time for some Thank you's

This is a baby shower card I made last night for a shower I am attending today for a co-worker. The colors for the shower are blue and brown. It helped me decide. No rubber stamps were injured in the making of this card.
paper: American paper company
embellishments: satin ribbon, K & Company baby giraffe, buttons , word stickers
tools: cuttlebug embossing folder , corner punch
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These cards were made as "gift" thank yous for my niece's baby shower. I was helping out her mom. They are not elaborate at all, but we thought if was a useful thank you card, as it will be empty except for the removable tag that gives the thank you for attending and explains the card is to be reused. What do you think about that?
paper: American paper company
embellishments: various types of ribbon, leaves came from AC Moore (in the silk flower section) , and the flowers are glitter die cuts (sorry once again I tossed the box- I have to stop doing that), I put rhinestones in the center of each
tools: cuttlebug embossing folder
The tag paper was for baby invitations- it was redirected to this. It is embossed with little tiny silver hearts on one side.
Another thank you card.
paper: DCWV- flocked paper
sentiment : Joann's Essentials
embellishments: satin ribbon
tools: Spellbinders nestibilities for sentiment, and the front of the envelope since it was all black.
My August visit to Sacramento
This isn't the best photo, but it gives a little glimpse of the perfect Saturday night I spent with my friends and their families. This was our view during dinner outside. A great space, great company and great food! I couldn't have asked for another thing! But I also got to watch the boys light fireworks on this perfectly calm and beautiful night in California. I think everyone had a good night, even the boys. It was a wonderful memory I will have forever...
Good morning! I wanted to share a few more pics from my visit to California. I was in Sacramento for a conference, and extended my time for a few days to have a long overdue visit with old friends. It was the most relaxing time I have spent in a very long time.
The words above I photographed at my friend Lisa & Terry's home. I really like it, it's something to strive for.
Lisa, Gavin and Wesley took me to See's candy store. It was a total treat in every way. I have never been to a candy store like it before. Their chocolate was the best! Thanks Lisa!
Julie also took me to a great candy store with fantastic chocolate in Old Folsom. I was living the life...
We also went to Joe's Crab Shack in Old Sacto. The food was great!
I thought this sign at Joe's was cute.
I thought this doll could make a nice addition to my doll collection. Naaaaahhh, just kidding. ;)
The capitol building and park were across the street from my hotel.
This photo and the one above, I took from a bridge overlooking the entrance to "Old Sacramento" coming from the mall/downtown area. And speaking of the mall, it seemed almost desolate. Hate to say it, but in the streets leading up to this area, I saw more homeless, street people and panhandlers and "crazies" than I have seen in any given week in Philadelphia. I was shocked, saddened, and amazed.
This shot was taken in the mall. Do you see any people? I didn't. OK, maybe one. It was the middle of a saturday afternoon. Talk about feeling the recession?...
This was at the entrance to the mall, and inside, it was pretty empty, too.
I'm Back Baby...!
Hello all. Well I did it. I have invested in a new computer. You only go around once, right? Now all I need is the time to get back in the craft room. One thing that I did in my absence from the computer and the challenges was get hooked on HGTV. It is the awesome-est! Design Star, Income property, First time home buyer, House Hunters, Real Estate Intervention, so many more...
I want to give a great big thank you to Rose and Pam who offered me kind words in my absence. It was truly appreciated. Pam, if you read this message, would you leave me your blog address so I can pay you a visit.
I would also like to say hello again to Helen. Have you created any more cards? Your origami is fantastic!
Below are some of the cards I have been working on over the past few months. I probably won't type in all the directions, but I will give you a little...
1. Most of the paper is DCWV. They have some fantastic paper sets out right now.
2. The angel graphic came from an old greeting card.
3. The pearl spray is by "Want to scrap". A great convention purchase.
4. The birthday stamp was an unmounted internet purchase.
Anniversary card for a Corporal on the job with 35 years. I didn't get a lot of notice to make this one. I think they asked me on monday or tuesday and wanted it by thursday at the lastest. I really need more time than that to do my best work. He said he was happy with it.
I was really happy with the final results on this one.
1. Pre-embossed square heart card. The hearts were edged in gold metallic pen.
2. The heart was stenciled in gold embossing paste and I added the rhinestones while the paste was still wet on white roses paper.
3. The words at the bottom is a sticker.
The next several beach/sea themes were made for a former teacher of my son. We have remained in contact, although she last taught him 2 years ago. I really enjoyed making them for her. I also really liked how they turned out. I pulled out every single beach stamp I own to see what I could come up with.
1. kraft cardstock by American paper company
2. I used glitter glue for the beach and sprinkled sand in it.
3. 3D sandals and mini seashells in the sand.
4. The sun is a stencil. I used a marker, then outlined it in glue and glittered it.
5. The kite is popped up off the card.
6. The stamp set is stampin up.
A quick sympathy card. I made this card in about 8 different colors. I just forgot to photograph them. I loved how they turned out, too. I also think the sympathy sentiment could easily be replaced with get well, or happy birthday.
This sympathy card is the first time I actually stitched on a card. Loved it! I will definitely be making some more of these cards. Not necessarily sympathy. It didn't take as long as I would have thought.
Last but not least for tonight- I made this baby card for a friend. Wasn't entirely happy with the final result, but I would make it again with some slight adjustments.
I'll be back....!
