Tuesday Trigger for February 21, 2011

Quote for today:

A smile is a powerful weapon; you can even break ice with it. (Unknown)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning! I just had to do the Tuesday trigger this week. I just love working with flowers!
Check it out and let me know what you think.
The Trigger:
My cards: I have stated before I really do not like to do just one card. When I do, it is because I'm on serious time constraints. Therefore I am usually interested in doing multiple (up to 6) of one card with possible variations to make a set. In the end, I was pleased with the outcome. :)
General Details: Imagine That textured cardstock
lavendar, orange, blue inks/no name
rubber stamps from Oriental Trading (flower and sentiment)
Rhinestones/Oriental Trading
Wooden button/unknown
Flowers by Prima
Thanks for stopping by. I truly appreciate your comments!
Gift Set Ethnic Cards
Quote for today:
Judgement comes from experience.
Great judgement comes from bad experience.
Bob Packwood
I always tell my son the best way to learn is from other people's mistakes. Right now, he would rather make his own. So be it...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hello All,

This is a set of cards I made for a gift. It is a very late gift, but ethnic style cards are not my forte, so it took me a while to get it together and come up with something. They are blank inside.
The object was also to keep them as flat as possible because I know she doesn't have money for extra postage. That was also a challenge. (This is actually a set of twelve)

It's Your Day...

Get Well Soon....

Thanks...

Happiness Always.....

Thinking of you....

Many Blessings...

The Secret of Life and Jade's 10th birthday

Hello all! This is going to be a very short post today. I wanted to post a poem I like, called- "Secret of Life". It will eventually end up on one of my greeting cards, it's just a matter of time. I came across this poem and several others stashed in another poetry book I like. Yes, that's how I do it. If I really needed it, I'd be at a loss. I can bet it's in a book, but then I'd have to look through about 1,000 of them...

I also want to share my niece Jade's 10th birthday card.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Secret of Life
Take time to think. It is the source of power.
Take time to play. It is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to be friendly. It is the road to happiness.
Take time to work. It is the price of success.
Take time to pray. It is the greatest power on earth.
Take time to love. It is the way of God.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here's Jades card. By way of small explanation. Her mother posted her birthday cake photo on FB and it was a picture of a hamster shaped cake (really cute). I remembered I had this cutie clear stamp by K & Company. This was the closest I could come to it. I think she'll like it. Oh yeah, he was holding a cookie so I had to change that to a cupcake and raised his arms on top. He is popped up also. I know it looks like he's gonna burn off his nose, but I'm quite sure he's actually holding that little cupcake at a safe distance. : )

Without further ado...

Inside:
I forgot to put the number 10, so I did after I shot this.

Valentine's Post

Happy Valentine's Day!
For all those who celebrate it. Otherwise, I would say, "Happy Monday"! The temperature is rising this week, making me a believer in the groundhog theory.
Who cares right now that it may not last... : )

My 365 Words of Wisdom for Women for today is: (Why Not?)

LOVE

Love freely, love deeply, love purely. Love yourself the way you've always wanted to be loved, and love others the same way. Love well, love often. Find it in your heart to love those who have never shown you love-for they need it most of all. Give so much love that you're certain to get some back. Open your heart to the woman who lives on the sidewalk with her two daughters, Love her. Have compassion for the man who fired you from the job you loved most of all. Love him. Love all the Earth has to offer-her people, her birds, her stones, insects, trees, mice, and oceans. Love something-anything!- with a passion. Love something larger than yourself. Call it Goddess, call it God, call it Nature, call it Devine, call it Source, Call it Betty.
CALL IT LOVE.

Remember I told you I don't necessarily agree with everything she writes about each word, but enough that I still type it out. I may start to edit with... (dot,dot,dot)-next time, but for now... : )

Hope you all enjoyed today. My mother used to always say days like this are "just another day", and in truth, they are, but if it's special to you and yours...enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are a couple of cards I made. The first one my son wanted to give to a girl!
The inside: He wrote his own words because he said the cards in the store said too much.
This is the card I made for him. I know the colors are way dark. I think I tried a little too hard to make it masculine, but he did like it, so all was not lost.
The inside: I actually liked the inside better than the outside. Go figure...
Well, thanks again for stopping by. I appreciate you taking a little time out of your day to visit ME! = ]
For a Baby Shower
Words of Wisdom for Women (365 days): Todays word is:
LAUGH
LAUGH when it all becomes so ludicrous there's nothing else to do. Laugh big, deep laughs that open up your throat and your lungs and your belly. LAUGH alone, laugh in concert with other laughers. At the movies- laugh when no one else laughs-and let them wonder what they've missed. LAUGH at your own mistakes, your own foibles, your own foolishness. LAUGH in the face of fear. Laugh until you cry, laugh until you have a stomachache. Let laughter be your medicine, your companion, your music of joy from within. LAUGH in school or at work or in church. Get up and leave the room if you must. LAUGH in public. Bend over laughing, fall down laughing, roll on the floor laughing. Start an entire room laughing, start the whole world laughing. And don't stop until you have the last laugh. She who laughs, lives.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really like this book because even though I may not agree with everything she writes beneath every word-100%, I agree with most of it. As for today's word "LAUGH", I love to laugh. I live to laugh, and I laugh to live. Laughter helps me through so many situations it's ridiculous. My recommendation? Surround yourself with other folks who love to laugh. You'll live longer! = )

My son was invited to a baby shower by his barber (He is 25). He has been cutting his hair since he was very young, and they have developed a good relationship (I guess he is like a big brother to him since my son is an only child). Somehow I ended up paying for most of the gift, although I wasn't invited to the shower. : / But I was determined not to take over. I took him to the store and trotted him around the entire store showing him all of the things that are necessary once a baby comes into the world, plus the cost of each item! The young mother had a 23 page gift registry. lol Hopefully he was listening and paying attention...only God knows for sure...

Here is the card I made for him to take to the shower...

the inside...

Tuesday trigger 2 weeks!

I wanted to quote from another favorite book of mine today:
Words of wisdom for Women (365 words)

I love this book and had an idea to do a set of cards using these words. I made a few, and I'm going to make more because the words are powerful...
The word for today is:

ACCEPT

Recognize what you can change and what you can't. In every moment, ACCEPT that
everything is as it should be. ACCEPT that your body is round and fat and glorious.
Just love it. ACCEPT that you don't do things the way everyone else does. Just embrace
it. ACCEPT that sometimes your belly hurts, sometimes you don't have enough money
to pay the light bill, sometimes life is too hard. Just cry and move through it. ACCEPT
that you can't do it all-and who would want to anyway? ACCEPT a kind word. Don't appologize. ACCEPT a gift- no matter how big, how small. Say Thank you without embarrassment. ACCEPT that life isn't always fair and find the wonder in that, too. Don't Accept things
that aren't yours, like misdirected shame and blame. Like credit for someone else's accomplishment. Like disrespect. ACCEPT everything you are, and nothing you are not.
